Silicon Valley Eats: American/Steakhouses (1)

We also noshed at Los Altos Grill to celebrate a family birthday, and we were all in the mood for meat. Los Altos Grill delivered. The prime rib was juicy and tender, and the beef ribs were finger-licking good. Sweet and tangy, just the way I like 'em. Los Altos Grill is owned by the same group that brought us Houston's and Bandera, so the vibe and menu is very similar. Hip and fun, and always reliable.

Moving back to independent restaurants, we ventured out to Parkside Grille in Portola Valley. We immediately felt transported to another time and place, where people ride horses as the main mode of transportation, and ancient redwoods still reign over mankind. Tucked away in this idyllic setting is Parkside Grille. The food was quite good, nothing spectacular, but very decent. Among our party, we had ribeye steak, hangar steak, seared ahi tuna, and seafood linguine. Everyone was satisfied with their order, and all left well-nourished.
